Sabin (Grupo Sabin) is one of Brazil's top diagnostic medicine companies, founded in Brasília in 1984, now with ~7,000 employees, ~350 units across 78 cities, and over 6.5 million clients a year. In São Paulo state, it's expanded steadily since 2015 to around 52+ units, growing through new openings like its Alphaville/Barueri unit, a R$1 million investment.
Sabin's Unidade Digital is Brazil's first fully digital diagnostic-medicine unit, launched by Grupo Sabin as a pilot in the Noroeste neighborhood of Brasília. It replaces traditional registration counters with self-service kiosks: patients book and pay for exams online beforehand, then check in on-site with a QR code and go straight to sample collection, skipping queues and paperwork entirely. Despite the tech-forward format, the space is designed to keep Sabin's signature hospitality, with sensory touches like music, art, and a complimentary coffee to go.
Me and my team were responsible for developing the full branding experience of Digital Unit + Regular Units after Sabin's rebranding.
the problem
How can Sabin create a welcoming user journey without human attendants – using only a digital interface?

How can all of the Sabin's public environments translate the new rebranding?
the brief
Design the space experience of 4 prototypes (digital unit + 3 standard units), translating the Sabin's new Design System (rebranding). After that, develop a Guidebook with design guidelines to standardize the space experience of all of the units and future units.
Digital unit specific briefing:
– Develop a strategic space experience of a complete digital service: without any human help.
– Openness to bring innovative ideas and suggestions of other disciplines, such as: UX/UI, AI integration.

the work
– Translation of the new design system into Design guidelines of the space experience (EGD + wayfinding + interior design suggestions)
– Development of tailored EGD + wayfinding for each of the 4 prototypes
the innovation
– Digital Unit – completely integrated space+technology experience: software + signage + environmental graphic design + AI image generator leading the full journey of the user.
